Lost Boost, Clutch Judder or a Warning That Returns?

A boost warning can make you fear the worst. It doesn’t prove the turbo has failed. Use the symptoms below to decide whether to arrange an inspection or stop driving, then let testing narrow down the cause.

SymptomPossible causesUrgencyNext step
Engine light with weak accelerationBoost leak, ignition, fuel pressure, sensor data, exhaust restriction, turbo control or calibrationHigh if flashing, smoking or severely misfiringStop safely if the light flashes with rough running, smoke or major power loss. Otherwise request assessment before further driving.

Get Back the Response, Grip and Comfort You Expect

You know how your car normally feels. Tell us what’s changed, even if all you can describe is a hesitation leaving a junction or a knock over a speed bump. The model and symptom are enough to start. We’ll ask for technical details only when they help with the next step.

Find out why the warning keeps returning

Cleared the light, only for it to come back? A scan is the beginning of the diagnosis. We compare the stored fault with voltage, wiring and the relevant mechanical checks before recommending parts. A code names a condition; it doesn’t always name the cause. Read about our car diagnostics service.

Restore power without guessing at the turbo

Weak acceleration can begin with an intake leak, ignition trouble or boost control. Smoke, overheating and oil loss need their own checks. We inspect the affected systems first, then explain whether a hose repair, supporting component or more extensive engine or turbo work is justified.

Sort out slipping, judder and difficult shifts

Does the engine rev without the expected increase in speed? Or does the car judder as you pull away? Clutch wear, mounts and actuation can produce different complaints. The fitted manual or automated transmission determines what we test and what belongs in the quote.

Make braking and cornering feel predictable again

A steering shake under braking isn’t automatically a disc problem. Tires, wheels, hubs and suspension can contribute too. We check those connections before proposing parts or alignment. Mention lowered suspension, different wheels or track use so the repair suits the car you actually drive.

Keep the cabin cool and the car starting reliably

AC that fades in traffic or a battery that goes flat again soon gets frustrating. Repeated regassing or another battery may miss the cause. We check the relevant pressures, airflow or electrical supply, then separate a service need from a leak, charging fault or other repair.

Abarth 500e checks

We separate ordinary 12-volt problems from charging, thermal and high-voltage concerns. High-voltage inspection or repair is accepted only when the required equipment, isolation procedure and workshop capability are suitable for the specific job. See our electric car inspection and repair service.

Repair decisions

Does Your Abarth Need a Small Repair or a Larger Assembly?

A split boost hose and a worn turbo can both leave the car short of power. Their repair bills should look very different. Our recommendation is to confirm the failure first, then compare the complete fitted cost. Rebuilding makes sense only when the assembly can be measured and reliably tested.

Repair the existing system

Keep the original assembly when a confirmed hose, seal, connector or serviceable part is the problem and the surrounding system is sound. This can avoid unnecessary replacement cost. If wear has spread, however, a small repair may only postpone the same complaint.

Rebuild an assembly

A rebuild can be worth considering when the main assembly is usable and the required parts and specialist testing are available. Compare what’s renewed, any machining, downtime and written coverage. The word rebuilt alone doesn’t tell you how much work is included.

Replace the component

Replacement may be the better choice when damage is extensive or a dependable repair isn’t available. Ask which part is proposed: genuine, an appropriate alternative, remanufactured or used. Compatibility, condition and supplier terms matter as much as the headline price.

Estimated Abarth repair prices

What Will Your Abarth Service or Repair Cost?

Use these AED planning ranges to compare the stated work, not as a fixed offer for every model. Repair allowances cover the listed parts, fitting and checks unless an exclusion is stated. Your car’s condition, brake package, modifications and parts availability can change the estimate. These figures are not confirmed VAT-inclusive quotations; the written quote will state the applicable tax and final payable total before approval.

Abarth diagnostics

AED 250 to AED 450 for an initial scan and focused checks for one warning or symptom, after approval. This is separate from the free initial workshop inspection. Extended testing, dismantling and repairs cost extra.

Minor service

AED 550 to AED 850 including suitable engine oil, oil filter, basic inspection and service reset. Extra filters, plugs or repairs are separate.

Major service

AED 1,250 to AED 2,100 as an allowance for engine oil, oil filter and agreed due filters or spark plugs with fitting and checks. The written item list determines the scope. Timing-belt work, gearbox service and fault repairs are not automatically included.

Front brake work

AED 900 to AED 2,400 for front-axle pad or pad-and-disc work, including fitting and inspection. The quote states which option applies. Performance calipers, larger discs, rear brakes and brake-fluid replacement are separate.

Free inspection and paid testing

The free initial workshop inspection is the starting assessment of your concern. It is not an unlimited diagnostic package. If fault tracing needs a scan, specialist measurements, dismantling or extended testing, we explain that stage and its charge before it begins. On-site inspection is quoted separately. Your repair quote identifies parts, labor, fluids, testing, exclusions, applicable VAT and the total for approval.

Three Typical Abarth Jobs and What the Price Covers

These typical job estimates describe possible repair scopes, not completed customer jobs. Each amount is a planning allowance with the same tax limitation as the price list above. Confirmed findings and parts compatibility determine your written quote.

Typical job estimate

2018 Abarth 595 misfire repair

AED 1,150 estimated total

Computer diagnosis, ignition testing, replacement of four suitable spark plugs and one failed ignition coil, fault clearing and a final drivability check. Additional coils, injector work, compression testing or wiring repair would change the scope.

Typical job estimate

2020 Abarth 695 front brake service

AED 1,850 estimated total

Front brake inspection, OEM-equivalent front pads and discs, fitting, contact-point cleaning and a final road check. Performance brake hardware, caliper repair, brake fluid service or rear brake work would be quoted separately.

Typical job estimate

2017 Abarth 124 Spider cooling repair

AED 1,480 estimated total

Cooling-system pressure test, replacement of a confirmed leaking hose and thermostat assembly, suitable coolant, bleeding and temperature verification. Radiator, fan, pump or engine damage would require a revised written estimate.

Model-specific service

595, 695, 124 Spider and 500e Need Different Care

Abarth 595 and 695 hatchbacks, the 124 Spider roadster and the electric 500e need different service plans. A badge or model year alone cannot identify the fitted brakes, gearbox or software. Optional photos and service records help once the booking request is underway.

Abarth 595 and 695

The 595 and 695 range includes 1.4-liter T-Jet engines, with manual or automated-manual transmission configurations depending on version. A clutch-wear complaint and an actuator or control fault require different checks. Brake hardware also varies, so a front-brake estimate must identify the fitted discs and calipers. Tell us about an intake, exhaust or software change if the symptom started afterward.

Abarth 124 Spider

The 124 Spider uses a 1.4-liter MultiAir turbo engine and was offered with six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Its service requirements should not be copied from a 595. Oil approval, spark-plug specification and maintenance history matter when planning engine service. Report roof leaks separately from engine-cooling loss, and mention whether a shifting complaint appears cold, hot or under acceleration.

Abarth 500e

The 500e follows a different inspection route. Charging messages, failure to become drive-ready and reduced performance may involve the charging source, connector, communications, 12-volt supply, thermal control or high-voltage systems. We confirm job suitability before high-voltage work is accepted. A 12-volt check does not establish traction-battery health or promise battery repair.

Earlier Abarth 500 and imported cars

Send the model and concern to check support before arranging transport. Market specification and previous modifications can change parts and diagnostic access. We confirm the applicable service route rather than assuming that every Abarth 500 shares the same engine or equipment.

From request to handover

What Happens After You Book Your Abarth In

You shouldn’t have to wonder whether a call about a fault has turned into permission to repair it. Inspection, paid testing and repair are separate steps. Here’s where each decision happens.

Step 1

Describe the problem

Tell us the model and symptom. Choose a workshop visit, free pickup and delivery, or ask about on-site inspection.

Step 2

Inspect the car

We check safety, reproduce the complaint when practical and inspect the systems connected to it.

Step 3

Test the likely cause

Scanning is combined with relevant voltage, pressure, leak, temperature or mechanical tests.

Step 4

Review the quote

You receive the recommended work, suitable choices, estimated cost and important exclusions before approval.

Step 5

Complete the repair

Approved parts and labor are completed. If the scope changes, further work needs your approval.

Step 6

Verify and hand over

We repeat the checks relevant to your original concern and explain the invoice, fitted parts, remaining observations, care instructions and any written coverage that applies.

Safe to drive or recover

When Continuing the Journey Could Make Things Worse

Stop safely and arrange recovery when the Abarth has an overheating warning, severe coolant or oil loss, smoke, a burning smell, a flashing engine light with heavy misfire, very low oil pressure, unsafe brakes, loose steering, tire damage, major impact damage or an electric-vehicle battery warning with heat or odor.

A steady amber engine warning does not automatically mean the car is safe to drive. Share the exact symbol and symptoms before deciding on a trip. Red stop, oil-pressure, temperature, brake or high-voltage warnings need their own instructions. Do not continue driving simply to reproduce a severe fault. Repeated overheating, oil-pressure loss or heavy misfire can turn a smaller repair into engine or catalytic-converter damage.

For the Abarth 500e, do not open battery covers or touch orange high-voltage cables. If there is smoke, unusual heat or chemical odor, move people away and contact emergency assistance. Do not charge the car. Impact damage or water exposure requires a suitable safety assessment before movement or charging.

What technicians verify

The Checks Behind a Boost, Cooling or Clutch Diagnosis

Checks are chosen for your complaint and approved diagnostic scope. They are not all included in the free initial inspection:

Did the problem begin after a modification?

Suppose your 595 starts hesitating after an intake or software change. That timing is useful information, not proof that the new part is faulty. Share what changed and when the car last ran normally. Checking fitment and the current calibration can prevent replacing healthy hardware while the original issue remains.

  • Battery condition, charging voltage, grounds and connections
  • Fault codes, freeze-frame data and live readings
  • Engine oil level, condition and visible leaks
  • Cooling pressure, fans, hoses, thermostat and pump behavior
  • Ignition, fuel delivery, intake leaks and boost control
  • Turbocharger operation only after supporting systems are checked
  • Compression or leak-down testing when engine condition is uncertain
  • Clutch, flywheel, linkage, actuation, mounts and gearbox response
  • Brake pads, discs, calipers, fluid and road behavior
  • Tires, wheels, bearings, joints, dampers and alignment clues
  • AC pressures, temperatures, airflow and electrical commands
  • Modification compatibility and the last known working configuration

DIY checks should stay simple

You can photograph warnings, check for an obvious fluid leak, note when the symptom occurs and review tire condition. Do not open hot cooling systems, work under an unsupported car, probe high-voltage wiring or keep driving through severe warnings. Workshop testing is safer when the fault involves pressure, heat, braking, steering, fuel, internal engine condition or high voltage.

Keep the Fun in the Drive, Not in Repeat Repairs

A little planning helps when your Abarth is a daily commuter, a weekend car or both. The aim is to address what’s due without turning every service into a long shopping list.

Use the schedule for your engine

The 595’s T-Jet and the 124 Spider’s MultiAir don’t share every requirement. Match oil approval, filters and scheduled work to the exact vehicle. A service reminder reset is useful only after the required maintenance has actually been completed.

Tell us about heat and stop-start use

Does cooling weaken only in traffic? Does the clutch feel different after a long crawl? Those details help plan checks under the relevant conditions. Don’t drive through overheating or severe slipping just to demonstrate the fault.

Bring the last invoice if you have it

Recent service records help avoid repeating work and show which items are still due. If records are missing, say so. We can discuss a sensible starting inspection without assuming that every fluid and component needs immediate replacement.

Clear work, clear handover

Leave With a Clear Invoice and an Explained Repair

Our published workshop standards explain the approval and handover process. Auto Repair UAE is an independent multi-brand workshop, not an authorized Abarth dealer.

Know why the repair is needed

Ask us to connect the finding to what you felt while driving. Why that part? What ruled out the alternatives? If another test is needed before we can answer, you’ll know that before a turbo, gearbox or control module is ordered.

See the parts choice before you pay

A lower parts price is useful only if the part suits your Abarth and how you use it. The estimate identifies the proposed option, labor and supporting work. If access reveals another problem, we explain the revised scope and get approval before adding that work.

Understand what was checked afterward

A cleared warning isn’t the whole handover. You should understand the work completed, fitted parts and relevant final checks, such as a leak recheck after cooling repairs. Keep the invoice, care instructions and any written job-specific coverage together, including advice about a follow-up visit.

Fit an Al Quoz 4 Workshop Visit Around Your Day

Our independent workshop is in Al Quoz 4, Dubai. Customers can book a free workshop inspection and use free pickup and delivery. A dedicated inspection van is available for on-site assessments when the location and problem are suitable. An on-site assessment does not mean every repair can be completed where the vehicle is parked. Complex diagnostics, lifting, pressure testing, programming or high-voltage work may need the workshop.

Contact us with the Abarth model, main symptom and preferred visit or pickup option. Tell us whether it starts, selects a gear, steers and brakes, so collection can be planned safely. A lowered car or one stuck in gear may need different loading arrangements. Free pickup and delivery does not mean an unsafe car should be driven to us. Contact the workshop for arrival directions.

Common questions

Abarth Owners’ Questions Before Booking

Do you repair the Abarth 595 and 695?

Yes. We inspect and repair common engine, turbo, cooling, clutch, transmission, brake, suspension, AC and electrical concerns. Modified vehicles need the current hardware and software configuration considered during diagnosis.

Can you repair an Abarth 124 Spider?

We can assess the 124 Spider for mechanical, cooling, transmission, electrical, AC and chassis concerns. Exact parts and procedures depend on the model year and market specification.

Do you work on the Abarth 500e?

We can begin with suitable charging, 12-volt, warning and electrical checks. High-voltage battery or powertrain work is accepted only after confirming that the job and required safety capability are suitable.

Does a boost fault mean the turbo needs replacement?

No. Intake leaks, ignition, fuel delivery, sensors, control valves, exhaust restriction, wiring and calibration can create similar symptoms. Testing should support turbo replacement.

How much does Abarth repair cost in Dubai?

Minor service planning ranges are AED 550 to AED 850; major service allowances are AED 1,250 to AED 2,100 for the agreed due items. Fault repairs depend on diagnosis and fitted parts. These are not confirmed VAT-inclusive quotes. The written estimate states inclusions, applicable VAT and the final payable total.

Should I tell you about tuning or modifications?

Yes. Intake, exhaust, boost, software, suspension, wheels and brakes can affect readings, part compatibility and the correct repair baseline. This information helps avoid misleading conclusions.

Can you collect my Abarth?

Free pickup and delivery are available. If the car may be unsafe to drive, tell us about the warning, leakage, smoke, temperature and current location before transport is arranged.

Is the inspection free?

The initial workshop inspection is free. Computer diagnostics, extended electrical or mechanical testing, dismantling and on-site visits may be charged separately. The next stage and its cost are explained for approval before that work starts.

Are you an authorized Abarth dealer?

No. Auto Repair UAE is an independent multi-brand workshop. Manufacturer warranty, recall, security programming or dealer-controlled work may require an authorized route.

How long will repairs take, and what warranty applies?

We give a completion estimate after the fault, access and parts availability are known. Routine service and an intermittent fault do not need the same time. Special-order parts or further testing may extend the booking. Any warranty is specific to the approved job, parts and written exclusions; there is no blanket warranty promised for every repair.
