Fix the source, not the appearance

Corrections policy

When Auto Repair UAE publishes a material error, the affected page should be corrected clearly and the connected risk should be checked—not hidden behind a new page or a cosmetic rewrite.

AMF Auto Services applies this process to service information, contact details, business and independence statements, policy pages, workshop guidance and advisor content.

Priority follows consequence

Some corrections cannot wait for a routine edit

A spelling issue and an incorrect brake-safety instruction are not handled with the same urgency. Review begins with the potential effect on a person, vehicle, decision or legal right.

Priority 1

Safety, urgent contact or serious legal risk

Incorrect emergency guidance, a broken primary contact route, dangerous vehicle advice, false approval, privacy exposure or another issue that could cause immediate harm should be contained and reviewed first.

Priority 2

Material factual or commercial error

Wrong business identity, location, service scope, price basis, warranty, affiliation, vehicle specification or consumer-rights statement should be corrected on the relevant page and checked wherever the same claim appears.

Priority 3

Clarity, grammar and presentation

Awkward wording, formatting, minor grammar or a non-material visual defect should be repaired without changing a sound underlying meaning into a stronger unsupported claim.

Correction route

From report to verified page

  1. 01

    Capture the exact issue

Record the URL, affected words, image or link, the reporter’s explanation and any source supplied. A general complaint may need a follow-up question before it can be tested.

  2. 02

    Contain immediate risk

If the issue could misdirect a caller, expose information or encourage unsafe action, the page or claim may be temporarily removed, qualified or redirected while the evidence is reviewed.

  3. 03

    Check the strongest source

Use applicable law, regulator or manufacturer information, direct workshop records, the vehicle itself, the relevant work order or another primary source. Search snippets and repeated competitor claims are not proof.

  4. 04

    Correct the owning page

Repair the page that owns the intent. Preserve a useful URL where possible, update connected metadata or schema when needed, and remove contradictory copies rather than creating a competing destination.

  5. 05

    Check the wider footprint

Search the site for the same phone number, business claim, warranty, wording, link or technical instruction. Global elements such as headers and footers receive a sitewide check.

  6. 06

    Verify the live result

Open the public page, test the relevant link or form, inspect desktop and mobile behavior where layout is involved, and confirm that caches are not serving the old version.

Proportionate disclosure

When a correction note is useful

A separate correction note is useful when the original statement materially affected safety, identity, money, affiliation, legal rights or the page’s conclusion, and a reader could otherwise misunderstand what changed. A note should state the substance of the correction without repeating or amplifying unsafe information.

Usually corrected without a notice

  • Spelling, punctuation and grammar
  • Broken formatting with no change in meaning
  • Minor accessibility labels or alt-text improvements
  • Small wording changes that do not alter the claim

May require a visible explanation

  • A reversed or materially changed recommendation
  • Incorrect identity, price, warranty or authorization
  • A safety instruction removed or substantially qualified
  • An image relabelled because it was presented as evidence

What this process protects

A correction should not create a second problem

We do not add false precision, an invented publication date, a made-up reviewer, or an unsupported guarantee to make a corrected page look more authoritative. Where evidence does not support a specific answer, the correction should state the dependency or uncertainty.

We also do not promise to publish every complaint or retain a permanent public edit history. Privacy, legal restrictions, abuse prevention and the need to avoid republishing harmful details can limit what is displayed publicly.

Send a precise report

How to request a correction

Use the contact page and begin the message with “Correction request.” Include the page URL, the exact statement or element, what you believe is wrong, the correct information and a supporting source where available. Do not send confidential customer or vehicle records unless they are necessary and requested through an appropriate channel.
