Installation without careless trim or paint damage
The windscreen opening sits beside finished body surfaces, dashboard materials, roof trim, cameras and delicate moldings. We cover the working area, disconnect or move attached equipment correctly and inspect the delivered glass before the old windscreen is removed.
After removal, the body flange is cleaned and checked. Existing adhesive is prepared according to the bonding system rather than scraped indiscriminately. Any corrosion or previous McLaren body damage is reported before new glass is fitted because adhesive cannot correct a damaged mounting surface.

Follow the stated safe-drive-away time
The adhesive must reach the required strength before normal driving. The safe-drive-away time depends on the product and conditions, so follow the instruction given at handover. Avoid slamming doors, strong pressure washing and disturbing retention tape or moldings during the first curing period.
Check the windscreen from the driver’s seat for clarity. Confirm the mirror, automatic wipers, cameras and nearby trim operate normally. If water, wind noise, loose trim, optical distortion or a new warning appears, contact the workshop promptly. Early inspection makes it easier to identify whether the concern comes from bonding, trim, glass or another vehicle area.

Why old moldings cannot always be reused
A molding may look intact while its clips, internal carrier, or adhesive edge has weakened. Reusing a damaged piece can cause wind noise, loose corners, or an uneven finish.

Previous windscreen work can leave cut marks, excess adhesive, corrosion, damaged clips, or contaminated surfaces around the opening. Fresh sealant cannot permanently correct an unsuitable bonding surface.

Do not drive with unstable glass or poor visibility
Free pickup and delivery can reduce disruption while glass and molding parts are arranged. If the windscreen is loose, badly cracked, or blocking the driver’s view, contact us before moving the McLaren. Recovery may be safer than normal collection.
