Find the cause before ordering parts
What our Bentley steering inspection checks
We begin with when the problem happens: during parking, at highway speed, over bumps, under braking, after tire work, or after an impact. The vehicle is checked on a level surface and, when safe and useful, during a controlled road test. Steering effort, return-to-center behavior, free play, noises, warning messages, and wheel position are recorded.
A lift inspection covers the rack, boots, tie rods, joints, column connections, mounts, suspension arms, bushings, ball joints, wheel bearings, tires, and visible accident damage. Hydraulic systems receive fluid, leak, hose, reservoir, pump, and bleeding checks. Electronic systems receive battery-voltage, fault-code, live-data, sensor, wiring, and calibration checks.
Alignment readings help show whether geometry can be corrected or whether wear, damage, ride-height variation, or a seized adjustment point must be repaired first. This avoids using alignment to hide a mechanical fault and prevents a new rack or tire set from being fitted while the original cause remains.
