What changed in your Alpina?

Power loss or coolant loss

Tell us whether it happens when hot, under acceleration or at idle. Fault data and focused leak or operating checks help decide whether a small component repair is enough.

Rough shifting or vibration

Does it happen in one gear or only when pulling away? We distinguish transmission behavior from worn mounts and driveline vibration before discussing gearbox work.

Ride, steering or brake changes

A knock, pull or uneven ride needs tire, joint and brake checks before adjustments. Replacing parts without checking the cause can leave the same problem behind.

Stop safely and call for recovery if the engine overheats, oil pressure is lost, braking or steering is unsafe, or severe misfiring occurs. Follow the vehicle’s warning instructions. Don’t keep driving to reproduce a serious fault.

Choose by symptom

Alpina repairs and maintenance

Choose the service closest to your concern. The quotation should identify what will be checked, the proposed repair and how the result will be verified. VIN and build details can follow when needed.

Computer diagnostics
Warnings and intermittent behavior can begin with computer diagnostics, followed by the voltage, wiring or physical checks supported by the fault data.
Engine repair
Cooling faults, low compression and internal noise may require engine testing after the exact Alpina powertrain and earlier work are identified.
Transmission repair
Delayed engagement, harsh shifts or driveline vibration can begin with a transmission inspection that considers fluid, mounts, controls and internal condition.
Suspension repair
Ride-height changes, knocking or poor wheel control need a suspension inspection with the Alpina-specific setup information available.
Brake repair
Pedal changes, noise or vibration warrant a brake inspection covering calipers, discs, pads, hoses, fluid, wheels and tires.
AC repair
Weak cooling or uneven airflow needs an AC inspection that separates refrigerant loss, compressor control, electrical faults and airflow restrictions.

Repair decisions

Repair, rebuild or replace

Alpina parts and calibration can differ from the related BMW platform. We compare condition, compatibility, complete cost and the effect on performance, comfort and value before recommending work.

Repair the existing system

Suitable when a serviceable seal, hose, connector, sensor, actuator or supporting component is responsible. This can retain the correct Alpina setup and control cost. It is not suitable when damage or wear prevents a reliable repair.

Rebuild the assembly

An engine, turbocharger, transmission, differential or caliper may be rebuildable after measurement. The quote should identify renewed parts, machining or specialist work, fluids, calibration and testing. Core condition and parts availability decide whether rebuilding is sensible.

Replace with the right part

Replacement may be better when damage is severe or repair would not be dependable. A standard BMW part is not assumed to match the Alpina application. Part numbers, hardware, software and setup are checked before approval.

Useful planning examples

Three typical Alpina job estimates

These are typical planning scenarios, not completed customer jobs or fixed offers. Totals cover the work listed, including fitting labor where specified. All three estimates exclude VAT. Part availability and written parts/labor warranty terms are checked when quoting.

Typical job estimate

2018 Alpina B3 cooling repair

AED 2,450 estimated total

Cooling pressure test, replacement of a confirmed leaking hose and thermostat assembly, suitable coolant, bleeding and temperature verification. Pump, radiator, turbo cooling or engine damage would require a revised quote.

Typical job estimate

2020 Alpina B5 front brake service

AED 4,800 estimated total

Front brake inspection, compatible pads and discs, fitting, contact-point cleaning and road verification. Caliper work, brake fluid service or rear brakes are separate.

Typical job estimate

2019 Alpina XD3 suspension repair

AED 3,650 estimated total

Inspection, replacement of worn front control arms with compatible parts, fasteners and wheel alignment. Damper faults, wheel damage or additional bushings would change the total.

Parts matched before purchase

Why the Alpina specification matters

Shared BMW architecture does not make every part, fluid, software setting or chassis adjustment interchangeable. We match the repair to the vehicle as built and to any later changes before ordering parts.

Shared platform

Use the BMW foundation correctly

The related chassis and engine family can guide initial tests and identify shared service parts. For a standard BMW, use our BMW repair service. A shared platform is a starting point, not proof that a replacement is correct.

Exact application

Retain the fitted Alpina setup

Check model, generation, part references, cooling equipment, transmission and chassis details where relevant. For example, BMW describes model-specific chassis and drivetrain calibration in its 2020 Alpina B7 technical overview. Apply the information for your own model, not that example indiscriminately.

Performance with comfort

Keep the Alpina ride and handling correct

If your Alpina no longer rides as it used to, start with condition checks. Worn joints or an unsuitable tire can affect comfort and steering even when the alignment figures look acceptable.

Wheels and tires

Check tire size, load and speed ratings, condition and pressure. A bent wheel can cause runout, meaning it does not rotate evenly, so a balance alone may not cure vibration.

Suspension and geometry

Inspect wear and damage before alignment. Record ride height and available geometry data, and identify non-standard springs, dampers, bushings or arms.

Brakes and steering

Compare pedal feel, vibration, pulling and steering response with tire and suspension condition. Heat, impact and previous brake work can change the next diagnostic check.

A clear decision at each stage

From inspection to handover

  1. 01

    Describe the concern

Send the model and symptom. A warning photo or recent repair invoice can help, but it is not required for the first inquiry.

  2. 02

    Agree on the checks

Start with a free initial condition review. Scanning, detailed testing or dismantling may be paid stages; approve the tests and charge first.

  3. 03

    Review your options

Compare the confirmed cause, repair choice, parts application, labor, VAT and final total, exclusions and expected availability. Extra work requires approval.

  4. 04

    Check the result

Approved repairs are checked against the original concern. Review the invoice, findings, remaining advice and applicable written warranty terms at handover.

Model-specific care

Which Alpina do you drive?

Send your model first. Generation, drivetrain and fitted equipment are confirmed when they affect the work. Rare parts or manufacturer-controlled functions may need additional planning or referral before a job is accepted.

B3, B4 and earlier models

Service, boost, cooling, transmission and chassis concerns. Engine and brake specifications must be matched to the generation and installed parts.

B5, B6, B7, B8 and XB7

Comfort, performance and electronics can overlap. Discuss the work needed for adaptive systems, cooling arrangements and specialist software before repair.

Diesel D3, D4, D5, XD3 and XD4

Diesel service items and fault testing differ from gasoline models. Give us the generation and symptom so fuel-system, emissions and cooling checks match the installed engine.

Practical workshop benefits

What you receive with your Alpina repair

Our Al Quoz 4 workshop brings the inspection, parts discussion and approved repair into one process. You can compare the proposed work before committing to a major assembly.

  • Separate urgent repairs from maintenance. A missing invoice does not prove every fluid or part needs replacing.
  • Keep the right specification. Record installed parts, fluid grades and any supported setup changes.
  • Know what was verified. Ask for the repair findings and relevant final checks. If an intermittent fault did not recur, that limitation should be clear.

Bring any history you already have. We request extra details only when they help the job. See our workshop standards for approval and handover expectations.

Before you book

Questions before you book

How much does Alpina service cost in Dubai?

Budget AED 650 to 1,150 for an oil-and-filter service or AED 1,600 to 3,200 for the scheduled major-service items listed in your quote. Initial computer diagnostics are estimated at AED 250 to 550. These figures exclude VAT; the written quote lists inclusions, exclusions and the total.

Is the initial inspection free?

Yes. The initial workshop condition review is free. Paid diagnostics, extended testing or dismantling are separate and explained before approval. Ask whether a diagnostic charge is credited toward the repair; a credit is not assumed.

Can a standard BMW part be used on an Alpina?

Some parts are shared and others differ. Check the model, generation, part reference and required hardware or calibration before buying. Visual similarity is not enough.

What should I send to book?

Start with your Alpina model and the service or symptom. A photo can help. VIN, build information, mileage or previous repair records can follow when needed.

Do you offer free pickup and on-site inspection?

Free pickup and delivery across Dubai can be arranged when booking. On-site assessments are separate, with any visit charge confirmed before dispatch. Tell us if the car cannot roll or has unsafe braking, steering or ground clearance.

Can a fault code identify the failed part?

Not by itself. Voltage, wiring, pressure, mechanical condition and system data may need testing before a component is recommended.

How long will repairs take, and what warranty applies?

The repair and parts availability determine timing. Confirm the expected completion date and written warranty terms for the selected parts and labor before approval; no universal duration is promised.

Is Auto Repair UAE authorized by BMW ALPINA?

No manufacturer authorization is claimed. We are an independent multi-brand workshop. Manufacturer warranty, recalls and restricted software functions may require a manufacturer-appointed provider.
