The direct answer

Start with the UAZ symptom

We can inspect ordinary maintenance, cooling, clutch and gearbox concerns, transfer-case and propshaft noise, steering play, suspension wear, brakes and 12-volt electrical faults. Tell us when the symptom occurs, which driveline mode is selected and whether the car is safe to drive. The first workshop look is free; a scan, extended test or dismantling is priced before it starts.

Patriot, Pickup, Hunter, Profi and Bukhanka can have different engines, gearboxes, axles and service parts. We can begin with the model and problem. The VIN or existing part number is useful later when we need to confirm a filter, fluid or replacement component.

Auto Repair UAE is an independent workshop and does not claim UAZ manufacturer authorisation. The official UAZ owner manuals remain the reference for the applicable model and year. We confirm available information and equipment before accepting any restricted procedure or component repair.

Use changes the inspection

How you use your UAZ

A useful diagnosis connects the driver’s complaint to load, surface, temperature, speed and driveline mode. Replacing the first worn-looking part can miss the reason it wore or fail to reproduce the symptom.

01

Daily road driving

Road-speed vibration, steering response, braking balance, tyre condition, fluid leaks and cooling behaviour are checked in normal two-wheel-drive use.

02

Low-range and loose surfaces

Transfer-case selection, axle engagement, propshaft movement, underbody contact and noises under driveline load receive extra attention.

03

Load carrying and towing

Vehicle weight, payload, trailer use, spring condition, brake demand, tyre rating and operating temperature affect the inspection and maintenance discussion.

04

Storage and occasional use

Battery condition, stale fluids, seals, corrosion, tyre age, brake drag and evidence of animal or moisture damage may matter more than mileage alone.

A stock vehicle and a lifted vehicle with larger tyres do not place the same demands on steering, wheel bearings, final-drive ratios and braking. Recovery equipment, roof loads, auxiliary lighting and added electrical accessories should be disclosed. Modifications are documented as part of the current vehicle configuration rather than treated as factory specification.

Problems we can check

Common UAZ faults we inspect

Engine and cooling

Overheating and leaks

Overheating or repeated coolant loss needs a leak and cooling check. Tell us about smoke, new noises or recent fluid loss; a top-up alone may miss the cause.

Clutch and transmission

Hard shifts and clutch slip

Hard shifts or slip can involve clutch controls, linkage, mounts or internal wear. We check when it happens before quoting transmission diagnosis and repair.

Transfer case and shafts

4×4 noise and vibration

Noise in four-wheel drive or low range may involve the transfer case, shafts or joints. We check it under load and inspect oil condition and play.

Axles and differentials

Axle noise and oil leaks

Hubs, bearings and differentials can sound alike. We use speed, turns, load and leak location to check whether a seal or a deeper repair is needed.

Steering and suspension

Steering play and pulling

Pulling or loose steering may involve tyres, joints, bushes or bearings, especially after an impact or lift. Damaged parts need repair before alignment.

Brakes and tyres

Brake pull and uneven wear

A brake pull can come from the brakes or tyres. We check pedal feel, leaks, friction parts and parking brake before quoting the right work.

Repair choices after inspection

What work may follow a confirmed fault?

We separate routine servicing from a focused repair and quote the actual vehicle and fitted parts. The result of the inspection determines which option is appropriate.

Service and wear items

Correct engine oil and filters, due driveline fluids, suitable brake pads or a compatible battery can be quoted as defined jobs. A leak, low pressure or brake pull needs its cause checked before a routine service is chosen.

Clutch, 4×4 and axle repair

A confirmed clutch fault may need controls or clutch parts. A noisy propshaft joint, transfer case, hub, seal or differential may need a focused repair or a larger strip-down. We identify the affected assembly and parts route before approving work.

Cooling, steering and brakes

Once a leak or failed component is confirmed, the quote may cover a cooling part, steering joint, suspension component or brake hardware, followed by relevant checks. Alignment follows repair of meaningful looseness or damage.

Paid testing and any additional work need approval. If a specialist procedure or suitable part cannot be confirmed, we explain the limit before dismantling.

After demanding use

Checks after off-road use

Water and deep mud

Report the depth, duration and any loss of power. Air intake, lubricants, breathers, electrical connectors, brakes and trapped debris may need inspection. Do not assume clear-looking oil proves that no water entered another housing.

Underbody contact

A strike can affect guards, housings, exhaust, mounts, lines, steering, suspension and alignment. Photographs of the obstacle area and the first visible leak help establish what happened.

Sand and high temperature

Cooling airflow, filters, tyre pressures, clutch load, transmission temperature and recovery attempts matter. Continuing after repeated overheating or clutch smell can turn a manageable concern into wider damage.

Recovery and towing

Explain where the vehicle was pulled, whether wheels were locked, which driveline mode was selected and how far it was moved. Recovery forces and unsuitable towing can add damage that was not present at the first stop.

Gloved hands checking a propshaft joint and transfer-case area under a four-wheel-drive vehicle

Cleaning also needs judgement. High-pressure water directed at seals, electrical components or breathers can create new problems. Heavy deposits should be removed with awareness of the parts underneath, followed by inspection rather than cosmetic washing alone.

Specification first

UAZ maintenance by model

Service intervals and fluids depend on the UAZ model and year. Engine, gearbox, transfer case, axles, cooling and brakes have different specifications; fluids that look alike are not interchangeable.

An oil service checks the correct oil and filter, quantity, sealing, visible leaks and next interval. Low pressure, contamination or unexplained consumption needs a separate diagnosis. The applicable UAZ manual guides the specification.

Dust, water, low range and heavy loads can call for earlier checks of filters, breathers, joints, brakes and fluids. We recommend extra work from the vehicle condition and service history, rather than a blanket parts list.

Choose suitable parts

Finding the right UAZ parts

Vehicle details

Match the fitted part

Engine, axle, dimensions and part markings can differ by year or market. We request the VIN when it helps confirm fitment.

Parts choice

Compare new and rebuilt

Depending on the repair, suitable options may include original equipment, verified aftermarket parts, a repair kit or a specialist rebuild.

Before ordering

Check price and delivery

We confirm the part, freight, expected lead time and total when available. You approve the choice before we order.

Technician comparing an old bearing with a replacement beside a measuring caliper

A part that bolts on may still have the wrong gear ratio, bearing clearance, brake dimension or wiring. We compare it with the fitted component before ordering, especially when the vehicle has been modified.

Model context

UAZ models we assess

Enquiries may include Patriot, Pickup, Hunter, Profi and the van family often known outside Russia as Bukhanka. The badge alone cannot identify every fitted part. Similar vehicles may use different engines, gearboxes, axles, brakes or electrical equipment, and some have been modified.

Imported or modified UAZs may need a VIN or old part marking to identify a replacement. If the right procedure or component cannot be confirmed, we explain what can be inspected before dismantling.

Protect the vehicle and occupants

When to stop driving

Brake or steering control is reduced

Do not continue if the pedal sinks, braking is severely uneven, a major leak is visible, steering binds or looseness makes the vehicle difficult to control.

Oil pressure or temperature is unsafe

Stop for an oil-pressure warning, severe overheating, steam, heavy coolant loss or a new mechanical knock. Restarting can increase damage.

The driveline locks or strikes

Severe vibration, repeated impact, a displaced shaft, locked wheel or fluid pouring from a housing can make towing method and driveline position critical.

Fuel or electrical risk is present

Keep ignition sources away from fuel odour or visible leakage. Smoke, melting insulation or a hot cable needs isolation by a suitable responder.

Call with the vehicle’s location and whether it rolls, steers and brakes. Mention a lift or oversized tyres so suitable transport can be arranged.

UAZ repair questions

UAZ repair questions

Can you repair a UAZ Patriot or UAZ Hunter in Dubai?

Yes. We can assess mechanical, four-wheel-drive, cooling, steering, suspension, brake and 12-volt electrical concerns on Patriot, Hunter and other UAZ models. We are an independent workshop, not a UAZ authorised dealer. We check parts and procedure access before agreeing to specialist work.

Do you service the UAZ Pickup, Profi and Bukhanka?

Yes, we can discuss Pickup, Profi and Bukhanka enquiries. Start with the model, year and concern. We may ask for the VIN, engine, gearbox and market details later to confirm parts or fluid specifications.

How much does UAZ service cost in Dubai?

The free initial workshop inspection is AED 0. Our general workshop guide lists minor service at AED 250 to 650 and computer diagnosis at AED 150 to 450 before 5% VAT when the work is applicable. UAZ parts, driveline work and further tests are quoted for the actual model before work begins.

Can you quote UAZ repair from a photo?

A photo or video can help triage the concern and identify information to collect, but it rarely proves the full cause, access or parts requirement. A final price normally follows vehicle identification and inspection.

Can you diagnose a UAZ vibration in four-wheel drive?

Yes, a workshop assessment can compare the symptom by speed, load, steering angle and selected driveline mode. Tyres, wheels, bearings, shafts, joints, transfer case, axles, mounts and contact points may need separation before parts are recommended.

Which oil should be used in a UAZ?

The correct product depends on the model, year, engine and component. Engine oil, transmission oil, transfer-case oil and axle lubricant are not interchangeable. Use the applicable UAZ literature and verified component information rather than selecting by brand name alone.

Can you source UAZ parts in the UAE?

Parts sourcing can be investigated using the VIN, original markings, measurements and specification. Availability and lead time vary. Original, verified aftermarket, repair-kit or specialist-rebuild options are discussed only when they suit the component and safety requirement.

Should a modified UAZ be aligned before suspension repair?

Meaningful looseness, damage, incorrect ride height or unsuitable components should be addressed before alignment. Wheel and tyre size, lift parts, spring condition, steering joints and operating use must be included in the alignment decision.
