What your Bentley wheel is telling you
The visible mark is only one part of the inspection. A clean outer face can hide an inner-barrel bend. A cracked rim may also have a damaged tire sidewall. Vibration can come from the rim, tire, hub, suspension, or wheel alignment, so replacing parts from appearance alone may not solve the problem.
Curb rashUsually cosmetic, but a deep gouge near the bead or spoke needs closer inspection before refinishing.
Slow air lossMay come from a crack, valve, tire puncture, corroded sealing surface, or distortion where the tire meets the rim.
Steering vibrationNeeds a balance and runout check. Bent wheels, tire force variation, missing weights, alignment, and worn suspension can feel similar.
Impact damageA pothole can affect the inner barrel, tire cord, alignment, and suspension even when the outer rim still looks acceptable.
Peeling finishOften needs complete preparation rather than paint placed over lifting clear coat or corrosion.
If the tire is losing pressure quickly, the rim is visibly cracked, the steering shakes strongly, or the wheel was hit hard, stop when safe and avoid continuing at speed. Recovery is safer when the tire cannot hold pressure or the wheel shape has changed noticeably.
